5 Easy Things You Can Do in 30 Minutes to Care for Yourself and Reduce Anxiety

Here are 5 Easy Things You Can Do to Care for Yourself in 30 Minutes

Here's how you can take these five things further to suit your life:

5 Things You Can Do to Reset Your Day in 30 minutes

🌱 Read a chapter in a book
o  Read a chapter of an inspiring book. There are plenty of options including e-books from libraries. Don’t feel like reading? Try an audio book where you can close your eyes or do something else at the same time. It’s a great opportunity to put the phone (notifications) away and rest the brain that way.

🌱 Move your body
o  Strength training, yoga, cardio – there are so many options for whatever level of fitness you’re at. Getting your blood pumping isn’t just healthy for your body, but can boost how you feel. Endorphins can lift your mood and help improve sleep.

🌱 Connect with someone you trust
o  Call a loved one, schedule a coffee with a friend, ask a colleague to go for lunch together. Or if you want professional support, schedule a counselling session. There are a lot of options, some counsellors offer a range of times including shorter sessions for check-ins and various budgets.

🌱 Take a bath
o  Especially for moms who couldn’t get away, take half an hour to yourself at home in the bath (candle optional). Tune into a podcast the length of your bath time if you need something to engage your brain.

🌱 Improve your mental health by taking an online screener
o  Choose an assessment tool to assess your mental health (e.g. anxiety, depression, birth trauma, OCD and more). These take less than 5 minutes, but they’re a starting point if you’re unsure where you’re at with your mental health. Then check out what you can do to improve your mental health by trying out one of our self-guided therapy modules on the HOPE Platform.
